What is your real name?
My real name is Tobias Asplund
What is your age?
I am currently 22 years old
Where are you from?
First I lived in the small town of Karesuando, near the Finnish border. When
I was six I moved
to Kiruna with my mom. Have lived here ever since.
How long have you been tracking?
I started tracking early 1998. It's somewhat of a mystery that I haven't
progressed more than I have.
Do you play any real instruments?
I play drums in a grindcore band, guitar in a death metal band, and various
instuments and non-instruments
in another band called Armed Love. Our latest album can be found at www.mp3.com/armedlove
btw :)
If so, for how long?
guitar for ten years, but I have only progressed somewhat in the last two
years.
drums for five years, learned how to grind a year ago.
piano/organ/keyboard/vocals and other stuff for three-five years.
What 3 genres of music are your favorites?
punk (including hardcore and grindcore)
metal (black, death, thrash)
electronic (goatrance, ambient trance, ambient noise, noise, industrial)
Who is your favorite tracker and why?
Cadaver. He writes the best songs and has the best sound and attitude of all
trackers. He is truly superior.
Others I appreciate are BuriED, aeuk, AxeSlash and some others. Cthulhu is good.
and Kuunvarjo is one of the old favourites, as is Skarf.
If there was an aspect of tracking you wish you were better at, what would it
be?
it is not that I consider myself being bad at anything, I'm just lazy.
So I wanna get rid of the laziness, and learn how to make instruments in MPT.
Why did you choose the song you Metalicized?
Because it's a good song from the beginning, and I thought it would work
well as a viking-style metal song too.
How long did it take you to track it?
It took me about three hours to get it right. I tracked it in a couple of
days, every now and then.
It's a simple song.
How satisfied are you with your song?
About 75%. The part I'm least satisifed with are the vocals. I could have
told the guy who sang them to do
it again, because he didn't really get it right. And I could have mixed 'em
better.
