4. Preview Window

The preview window shows the content of a facsimile document. You can open the preview window by selecting a facsimile file in the main window and choosing the menu command File > View. Alternatively you can double-click on a facsimile file in the list.

4.1 Dialog Elements

The preview window contains a Menubar, a Toolbar, a Statusbar and an area that shows the facsimile page contents.

You can view the facsimile pages in three different magnification stages: full-size, half-size and quarter-size. You can use the scroll bars or cursor keys to move the visible part of the page within the window.

The function of the Menubar is explained in section 4.2 Menu Entries.

The Toolbar provides short cuts for some of the menu commands.

The Statusbar gives you some information about the facsimile page that is currently displayed. The meaning of the fields from left to right:

File Name
The name of the facsimile file.
Page Size
The size of the currently displayed page in pixels (width×height). The resolution is also displayed (Normal = 98 lpi, Fine = 196 lpi).
Page Number
The number of the page currently displayed and the total number of pages in the facsimile document.
Sender
The ID of the sender the facsimile came from. If you have defined an alias for this sender, this alias is displayed.

The preview window honors the following key bindings:

Alt++
Shows the facsimile page with larger magnification.
Alt+-
Shows the facsimile page with smaller magnification.
Alt+Left
Shows the previous page of the facsimile document.
Alt+Right
Shows the next page of the facsimile document.
Alt+Home
Shows the first page of the facsimile document.
Alt+End
Shows the last page of the facsimile document.
Ctrl+M
Opens the Mail Dialog for the currently viewed facsimile document.
Ctrl+P
Opens the Print Dialog for the currently viewed facsimile document.
Ctrl+S
Switches the Statusbar on or off.
Ctrl+T
Switches the Toolbar on or off.
Ctrl+W
Closes the preview window.
